Responsible for leading, developing and executing programs, systems, and policies to improve the efficiency and productivity of the Sales and Service functions within IDI. Builds and manages comprehensive, cross-functional initiatives critical to Individual Disability Insurance (DI) Sales strategies including customer and producer segmentation and analytics, producer relations development, and identification of key DI prospect segments. Develop marketing plans and strategies to support sales plans and strategies for all IDI products and services.
Manages the product management, underwriting and new and in-force operations for the GSI product set. Designs and manages sales programs and processes, underwriting standards and case management for new and in-force business. Monitors sales and profitability of the GSI product set.
Defines and develops GSI product set positioning, target customers and channels. Define and develop product-related sales support and training, marketing mix, and related material. Analyzes and reports on product performance. Develops recommendations and plans to meet performance goals. Ensures distribution channel has product knowledge, training and support to confidently sell GSI product line.
Direct the management of both operations and underwriting functions for the GSI product and services set. Set servicing standards to meet business and product standards. Set underwriting standards to achieve profitability and business goals. Analyze requests for proposals (RFP) and make offers in the GSI program. Ensure consistent customer service experience across IDI and GSI operations, in support of new business and inforce customers.
Direct the IDI Marketing function, partnering with CMC where needed. Ensure marketing strategies and plans are built for MGA and NMA distribution channel. Direct planning and execution of sales conferences. Ensure effective product and process training and marketing communications support are delivered to the MGA and broker channel, to ensure growth in IDI’s distribution channel, as well as ensuring IDI’s ability to meet or exceed annual goals.
Improve overall effectiveness of the sales organization by assessing operational weaknesses and developing and managing integrated and effective solutions. Continuously realigns all aspects of the organization’s operations and support services to facilitate and reinforce the effectiveness of strategic plans. This includes realigning key business processes, communications, and the development and deployment of resources in support of the Sales plan.
Oversee implementation and measurement of appropriate process improvements in technology to improve stability, consistency, productivity, and efficiency of the sales through MGA and Securian offices.
Contribute to department and division priorities through participation with other management personnel in projects and planning, either as a lead or in a supporting role. Be a primary business decision maker in the design of systems, rules, organizational structure and process.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 10 years progressively responsible and/or diverse experience in sales, service, product management and marketing or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience, including experience in business process control.
