The Accounting Specialist II performs transactional accounting functions to provide for accurate recording and reporting of company financial information. The Specialist ensures tasks are performed timely and in compliance with policy and procedures.
Process company disbursements to vendors and employees utilizing three accounts payable software systems. Maintain internal controls over processes, ensure compliance with internal controls over processes, and ensure compliance with corporate and department policies and procedures.
Communicate data deficiencies and/or policy violations to all levels of the organization. Work with internal budget managers and staff to research and correct transactions and assist vendors with payment inquiries.
Administrative duties related to above including sorting and distributing incoming department mail, sorting and filing processed invoices, preparing completed work for imaging.
Education: High School Diploma/equivalent required; advanced coursework in Accounting preferred.
Experience: 2 years related work experience with emphasis in account/system reconciliation and/or accounts payable, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. Working knowledge of General accounting principles and network applications. Advanced PC skills and knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
Professional certification required: None.
