The Role:


The BSA will work within our Service Management model that provides and delivers ITIL processes across our the IT environment.  The position will work across IT on improving process within our IT Service Management (ITSM) tool that allows IT teams to deliver back to the business.  The BSA role must have proven ability to work within this type of model.


This position will work within the IT Enterprise Services team and support our IT Service Management Software.  The position will work closely with our IT providers and IT Process Owners on improving processes.  As the BSA II this position will work across all providers and The Standard resolvers to implement continuous improvement within ITSM.  This position will interact with requestors in both IT and the business on new requirements.


  • The Business Systems Analyst plays a vital role in supporting customers through technology. 
  • This person will work extensively on IT Process focused projects within our ServiceNow IT Service Management Software.
  • Gathers requirements from Process Owners and other requestors, including the business, to improve key processess within the ITSM Software.
  • Prioritizes requests based off requirements, urgency, and expected values.
  • Works with operational providers to schedule consistent releases within the ITSM software.
  • Communicates with resolver teams and the busiuness on upcoming changes in the ITSM processes.
  • This person utilizes creative, flexible, critical thinking to analyze and resolve complex problems, or processes while supporting continuous improvement efforts.
  • The Business Systems Analyst participates in small to large project efforts to provide subject matter and ITIL process expertise. The BSA may be required to lead these project efforts.
  • The Business System Analyst helps team members grow their business, systems, and process knowledge and models superior customer focus, communication and collaboration.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems or related field OR Relevant Work Experience
  • Understanding and experience with Service Management
  • Project Management or Project Coordination experience
  • Experience with Service Management projects
  • Experience with ServiceNow or related Service Management Tools
  • Four to six years progressively responsible experience in systems administration, group insurance benefits, project management or business analysis, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
  • Moderate/Advanced proficiency in two or more of the following: Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Principals and Practices, Lean methodology, Microsoft Excel, database querying applications such as SQL Server and TOAD, VBA, HTML and CSS.


Knowledge:  In depth understanding of multiple divisional applications and processes. Recognized Subject Matter Expert in one or more systems or technologies.


Leadership:  Serve as a mentor to other team members, customers and project team members to ensure success in meeting team and departmental and strategic goals.


Autonomy: Determines methods and procedures on day-to-day and new assignments.


Problem Solving: Performs accurate assessments of complex situations and able to recognize broad impacts of problems. Systematically organizes information to develop, compare and assess issues and logical solutions.


Interpersonal Skills: Listens attentively, proactively shares information, and seeks opportunities to strengthen relationships through collaboration. Effectively presents complex information to diverse customers in a compelling manner.
