The Role:

 

The IT Process Owner is responsible for ensuring that one or more IT processes are implemented and operating in the IT environment.  The Process Owner is responsible for the ownership, sponsorship, design, and continuous improvement of the process and the associated metrics.  The Process Owner works across multiple outsourced providers and internally for adherence to the process and continuous improvements to the process.  The Process Owner is responsible for the education of the process across the environment. 

Responsibilities

50% Process Ownership to include the following; the design and implementation of processes in the IT environment, implementation of the process governance structure to include how changes to the process are submitted, tracked, approved, and communicated, provides approval of process changes, integrates the processes into the IT organization and Third Party Providers, overseas and ensures integration between processes in the environment, negotiates with other process managers regarding required updates, identifies and initiates process improvement, ensures up to date process documentation, and works with the IT Service Management tool owner for approved changes in the process. 

 

40% Process Adherence to include the following; setting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for owned processes, defines and implements reporting, provides analysis of reports and utilizes to communicate process adherence and identify areas for process improvement, and escalates issues with process adherence. 

 

10% Process education both internally and to external providers through the following; continuous training on processes, providing current documentation, and communicating updates on processes and the governance structure.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in technology, project management or related discipline preferred.
 
Experience: 4+ years or more experience in IT positions preferably in Service Management.  Experience with and significant knowledge of IT outsourcing activities.  Proven expertise in and significant experience with a managed services environment, strong knowledge of all aspects of the IT functional areas, Project Management experience, and business systems and process planning experience.
 
Other Required Skills: Solid oral, written, presentation, interpersonal and meeting coordination skills. Experience with ongoing maintenance of process artifacts. Experience working with offshore/remote teams and service providers is a plus. Strong analytical skills; strong mining and critical analysis of key data; capable of creating PowerPoint presentations, Excel (including charting), Microsoft Project; technical writing and documentation methods; creation of documents, graphs, spreadsheets, diagrams, and presentations using desktop development tools (MS - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Access, Visio, SharePoint), and web authoring tools.

 

Certification: ITIL Preferred but not required
