  • Overview

    The Standard is looking for a senior level End Point Engineer experienced in driving innovation, automation and efficiency through dynamic engineering and architectural standards. They will have demonstrated expertise with contemporary versions of Windows Client OS, Microsoft Server, Microsoft Active Directory (including Group Policy and ADFS), Exchange (including experience in Mobile Device Management solutions), SCOM, SCCM, Skype/Unified Messaging, VMware and Citrix. Strong experience in engineering and implementing internal and external cloud solutions with working knowledge of cloud management tools and frameworks. Demonstrated expertise in contemporary end point security practices and applications.

    Candidate will work extensively with peers in other infrastructure disciplines in developing designs, implementation plans and support strategies. Successful candidates will work exceptionally well in a collaborative team environment.
    Candidate will focus on forward looking technologies that deliver value to the business user.  This may result in investigation, evaluation and POC activities with clear objectives evaluating features and needs of the organization. The candidate will also have opportunities to work outside the normal discipline of Windows.


    • Be the single accountable party for architecting and engineering the Windows desktop environment, from choosing hardware to how operating systems are maintained to how we innovated business through automation.
    • Experience with mobile phone/tablet mobile device management software and solutions
    • Own the design and development of Standards Windows desktop environment.
    • Set the standards for frontline support teams.
    • Drive tactical delivery for multiple improvement teams.
    • Work with business partners, architects, vendors, and other groups to identify technical and functional needs of the Windows Desktop Platform.
    • Manage standard system processes and enhancements to the Windows desktop platform. Ensure that solution design adheres to good software design practices. Accountable for overall solution design quality
    • Ensure adherence to defined Information Security, Software Development Life cycle and Architecture strategy and intent.
    • Provide functional, technical, and/or process leadership.
    • Work with performing teams to deliver new capabilities in business applications and/or remediate issues.
    • Drive advanced (Level 3) operational support tickets to resolution as escalated and/or required.


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems or equivalent experience.
    • 10 years of experience as a Senior End Point Engineer.
    • 10 years of experience in large enterprise technology environment supporting Windows clients, Windows Operating System, mobile technology, SCCM.
    • 5 years of experience in a Windows architect or equivalent experience.
    • Expert with designing a Windows desktop environment that is high scalable, flexible, user friendly secure, and resilient.

    Core Competencies:

    • Extensive experience engineering enterprise desktops
    • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft desktop Operating Systems (Windows 7, Windows 10, etc.) , Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory.
    • Extensive experience administering desktops using management tools such as Microsoft System Center Configuration manager.
    • Extensive Experience with Admin Studio, App-V sequencing or other desktop application packaging tools
    • Experience migrating desktops from legacy Windows platforms to current versions.
    • Experience with VMware View and/or Citrix virtual desktops with production users and with resource intensive applications hosted.
    • Experience with Citrix Presentation Server/XenApp application packaging and App-V sequencing
    • Experience with Group Policy, PowerShell and/or other scripting tools
    • Experience with mobile phone/tablet mobile device management software and solutions
    • Strong experience tuning the end user experience to meet business needs.
    • Strong experience packaging and deploying applications for desktop deployment.


    Personal Leadership:

    • Proven track record of bringing multiple projects to closure on time and with full performance.
    • Ability to work with contractors, consultants and support teams as a virtual team that may be geographically separated.
    • Demonstrated ability to take personal ownership of systems and or platforms and while working collaboratively within a team; initiative is a must.
    • Experience as technical leader on projects, with the ability to chart the technical course and energize team members to assist with project work.
    • Ability to create and maintain clear and detailed operational documentation
    • Superior written and verbal communication skills; ability to present technical issues to technical and semi-technical audiences.
    • Experience resolving production problems when under tight time pressure.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with members of other technical groups and business users in order to achieve project goals and solve business problems
