Responsibilities

It's an exciting time at The Standard. We are building our Business Intelligence capabiilties and you'll have the opportunity to be part of this evolution from from the ground floor to really make an impact.

 

We seek a versatile and talented individual who not only brings data knowledge and capabilities, but can look at the big picture and understand the business impacts. You'll play a vital role in supporting and collaborating with internal business customers through technology. You'll utilize your strong creative and critical thinking skills to analyze and resolve complex problems, processes, and data requests while driving for continuous improvement.  

 

 

In this highly collaborative role, you'll: 

  • Lead and participate in gathering complex and often unique business requirements by defining the business problem and data requirements.
  • Utilize strong working knowledge of multiple data structures and sources to enable the design, development and implementation of decision support solutions,

    which may include data visualization, business intelligence, or data collection.

  • Partner with business area  team members to ensure effective design of decision support solutions.
  • Develop innovative approaches / prototypes / solutions to address complex business problems and solutions.
  • Partner  with IT to influence the design, alignment, and implementation of technical standards to address appropriate business solutions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science/ Information Systems, Business  or related discipline  Master's degree preferred..
  • 3 or more years experience in information management. 

 Preferred:

  • Experience with business analysis (requirements, stakeholder management etc..) and data analysis.
  • Experience in project management
  • Experience with BI tools such as Business Objects, Lumira, Tableau, MicroSoft Business Intelligence tools (MSBI)
  • Experience with other analytics and reporting tools such as SAS, SSRS, SSIS, SQL
  • Experience within the insurance industry (claims, underwriting, etc..)
