In this role you will help members of The Standard’s largest customer, California Teachers Association (CTA), protect their incomes and loved ones through the purchase of Voluntary Life Insurance and Voluntary Disability Insurance. You’ll help educate CTA members on the need for Life and Disability insurance and the value that The Standard’s products provide CTA members, as well as build and maintain effective working relationships with local union leaders and school districts in order to facilitate 1:1 and group sales meetings.
Develop and execute sales strategy to manage a large, dynamic territory based in central California. Effectively utilize Salesforce CRM to identify and qualify prospects and manage a pipeline designed to achieve targeted enrollment results. Successfully execute enrollment campaigns by conducting 1:1 and group sales presentations and enrolling members into the endorsed insurance products,
Develop, enhance, and maintain effective working relationships with union leaders at the state and local level and School District staffs through interactions at meetings and conferences, professional negotiation, responsive communication and appropriate problem resolution.
Effectively partner with peers, The Standard’s management team, and dedicated CTA service teams to attain sales goals, achieve department goals, and drive high levels customer service.
Seek out opportunities to mentor others, improve team performance and experience, improve practices, share knowledge and enhance the success of the local, regional, and national sales team.
Education: Bachelor’s degree, Business/Marketing/Finance preferred
Experience: 5+ years of individual sales, B2B sales, worksite marketing or benefit consulting experience, or combination of relevant education and/or experience. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook required; Salesforce CRM preferred. Ideal candidates will have experience working with or selling to the California educational market and/or unions and experience within the group benefits industry with LTD/STD, and Life product sales experience.
Professional certification required: Must have a valid driver’s license. Must have or obtain a CA Life and Health Insurance license.
Significant daily travel requirements within assigned sales territory in central California (up to 75% of time). Some evening and weekend work required.
