The IT Financial Planning Analyst will support all divisions of IT in the financial analysis and planning processes. This position will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between reporting received from Corporate Financial Services and transforming that data to information that can be used to drive sound financial decisions emerging from priority initiatives. This position will work closely with IT leadership and Corporate Financial Services to develop departmental budgets and forecasts, analyze spend related to those plans and articulate findings in presentations.
Analyze and report on all aspects of internal technology investments and budgets for multiple IT teams, including service costs, trend analysis and benchmarks. Proactively recommend options and solutions in the event of deviation from plan or evolving business needs and ensure that IT financial planning continues to support the organization’s business strategy.
Assist IT management in the analysis of respective expenditures, by compiling and analyzing financial information and budgets for the organization. Work with Corporate Finance Services to develop integrated budget to actual analyses, projections, reports and presentations. Identify trends and developments in alignment with stakeholder expectations and presents findings to senior management.
Understand the IT budget planning processes, cost allocation processes, and associated financial management standards in order to support effective chargeback/show-back processes, coding costs to appropriate categories.
Focus on the consistency of information captured across various systems within the IT financial management domain, e.g. budgeting, invoicing, project portfolio system, time tracking system(s), procurement, etc. Be the catalyst to track down the details necessary to appropriately manage the IT financial processes.
Responsible for supporting the maintenance and maturity of various models and systems that manage and administer financial data analytics that include granularity on vendors, projects, technology components and stacks, time-tracking, cost allocation metrics, etc.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience: Four or more years professional experience in budget management, financial analysis, accounting, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), LAN and mainframe operating environments, including financial spreadsheet applications. Working knowledge of IT operations and financing practices required.
