    Provide overall management of the Administrative Review Unit (ARU) to ensure timely and accurate reviews of adverse benefit determinations. Be a contributing member of the Legal & Compliance leadership team. Effectively work with other members of the department management team and executive level management.

    Responsibilities

    Direct unit operations and personnel to meet goals for accurate and timely review decisions. Responsible for unit performance and results. Contribute to the development of strategies to achieve unit objectives. Create goals that support those objectives and maximize the opportunity to achieve those goals through proper resource allocation and providing continuous process improvement and problem solving. Meet or exceed unit metrics.
     
    Grow unit expertise and deliver excellent customer service. Responsible for selection, development, motivation, appraisal and salary recommendations for reporting subordinates.
     
    Grow working relationships and work cooperatively with other business units in alignment with department objectives.  Be viewed as a trusted and influential partner to the business units.

    Qualifications

    Education: Degree or equivalent experience 

     

    Experience: At least 5 years experience or progressively responsible benefit administration or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.  Experience managing or leading people, either directly or through matrixed relationships, strongly preferred.
