This is a 10-week paid internship opportunity best suited for students who thrive in a dynamic environment, who are energized by competition, and have vetted sales as their next step post-graduation.

     

    We are looking for our next Employee Benefits Sales Interns for Summer 2019. Locations include: CA, WA, IL, TX, NC, MD, CT, MI, ATL.

    Responsibilities

    What you will gain with an internship at The Standard:

    1. A strong business acumen: build your business acumen through our extensive product training. You will learn about the various offerings we provide our customers, ranging from Disability, Life, Dental, and Vision Insurance products and services
    2. A consultative sales approach: through shadowing senior sales reps and participating in role plays based on real life situations you will face in the field. You’ll get real time feedback and build strong consultative sales skills
    3. Build your analytical brain: though learning how to dissect sales proposals, and solve complex service issues arming you to provide input that will drive value for the organization at large
    4. A competitive spirit: interns participate in weekly quizzes, where results are public and celebrated
    5. Build relationships: through participating in client events and meetings with senior sales reps
    6. Exposure at every level: through attending weekly presentations by leaders throughout the organization in Underwriting, Actuary and Technology

    Qualified Applicants MUST:

    • Be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably Business/Marketing/Finance, but all majors considered.
    • Have a passion for sales.
    • Commensurate PC skills (Microsoft office, Sales management tools etc.).
    • Must be insurable under corporate insurance carrier.
