Develops and manages the definitions of business terms and associated metadata, identifies and resolves data governance issues, aligns data ownership and accountability, and measures/monitors adherence to data governance standards. Engages with IT and business unit staff to investigate, understand and document data/metadata needs, insights, issues and opportunities. Develop recommendations and drive improvements to data standards, processes, definitions or tools.
Knowledge: Strong research and analysis skills. Able to produce insightful problem analysis, impact analysis, and gap analysis. Intermediate knowledge of business requirements definition, data definition, data derivation rules and data quality principles. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
Job Complexity: Develop, deploy and manage data standards needed within an assigned area of focus. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Develops data quality measurements. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel.
Supervision: Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 3-5 years of related experience.
