    As a member of the Information Security team you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in Information Security while working to advance our organization’s practices.  This will be done by collaborating with our IT partners on the implementation of training and awareness programs, well-defined security best practices, and creating technical content.  As your knowledge and experience expand you will have opportunities to analyze existing capabilities, determine their effectiveness through testing, and provide solutions for improvement. This role will require someone with an acumen for security technology, methods and practices and the ability to see the “big picture” of security in an enterprise environment. In this role the successful candidate will work with people, processes and technology to contribute to the overall function of GRC and the success of The Standard and our employees.

    Responsibilities

    Project Description:

    This individual will assist our Information Security program with responsibilities that will include working to develop our security awareness program, implementation of security controls across both our cloud and on-premise solutions, responding to customer security inquiries and other related duties as assigned.

     

    About the Role:

    • Support the development and execution of the Security Awareness program.
    • Research and provide security related information that will be used in proposals for potential customer offerings.
    • Learn to assess and understand technical risk, and how to manage it in the business.
    • Collaboratively work on our risk management and handling processes.
    • Assist with the application of security standards and controls across a variety of platforms.
    • Work on developing technical documentation supporting a variety of security topics.
    • Other duties, as required.

    Qualifications

    The following skills will assist in a successful internship in this position:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex topics to a wide variety of audiences.
    • Strong experience with MS-Office products
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a collaborative team environment.
    • Have a minimum a basic understanding of the different concepts of information security and willingness to learn more.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Must be a team player and be able to work on several projects at a time.
