The Taxation Consultant ensures accurate tax reporting for Disability Insurance Benefits, Life Insurance Benefits, and Producer Commissions. Consults with various internal and external partners on complex taxation topics to ensure that taxation reporting is performed accurately. Promotes taxation knowledge within various departments and processes by providing governance of Tax Knowledge Management documentation for assigned bodies of knowledge. Partners with quality functions within various departments to capture and analyze information regarding the accuracy of taxation reporting and provides insight regarding operational improvement opportunities. Participates in medium to large scope operational improvement initiatives or projects. Uses their network of contacts inside The Standard to share best practices and solve complex problems
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field
Experience: 4-6 years of experience in accounting, tax, or group disability insurance, plus 1-2 years of experience researching and interpreting State & Federal regulatory topics and consulting as a subject matter expert or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience.
