    This position is a part of the Employee Benefits & Customer Service division servicing one of The Standard’s largest clients, the California Teachers Association (CTA).  The CTA Sales Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the strategic vision and goals of the CTA’s Business Development team by managing its operational priorities.


    Drives premium growth through enrollment campaign support. Ensures Sales team is adequately prepared for peak enrollment seasons. Acquires and analyzes CRM data and recommends process improvements. Takes lead role in representing department for assigned business processes, applications, projects and initiatives through interface with other functional units across the business, ensuring the department’s interests and needs are known and accommodated.  Communicates relevant information to management team and solicits input and feedback regarding upcoming changes. Takes lead role in planning and executing process, technology and systems initiatives impacting assigned business units and functions.


    The position is in Hillsboro and can offer a flexible work schedule per manger approval.


    25% of Responsibilities:

    Consult with internal partners during the enrollment campaign opportunity process to identify and execute an enrollment strategy for each campaign that will help drive maximum member participation. Collaborate with CTA Marketing to identify and develop content for enrollment meetings and benefit fairs. Drive operational efficiency in enrollment campaigns by gathering and verifying data, conducting competitive research and analysis, performing district outreach, and managing data transfers between scheduling and CRM systems. Recommend and implement process changes that increase efficiency.


    25% of Responsibilities:
    Recruit, hire, onboard and maintain staff of external Benefit Counselors to support annual premium and enrollment targets in the CTA-endorsed Voluntary plans. Train benefit counselors to maximize participation in voluntary benefits plans by motivating enrollment through persuasive product value stories. Train benefit counselors on The Standard’s CTA-endorsed products and services, enrollment methodologies and communication plans. Manage the onboarding process including drug test/background check coordination and follow up, reference checking, W-9’s, and all other required forms for each counselor. Define, recommend and implement improvements to the Benefit Counselor program that delivers additional value or reduces costs.


    25% of Responsibilities:

    Provide peak enrollment season support by executing enrollment meetings, delivering presentations, educating CTA members in group and 1:1 sessions and helping members enroll in the CTA-endorsed plans (Voluntary and District-paid).

    Consult and collaborate with CTA Systems team to identify opportunities to manage and integrate enrollment data within Salesforce CRM. Develop, analyze and present reports from CRM system to support enrollment value stream management. Serve as liaison between CTA Sales team and CTA System team to support adoption of CRM implementations.



    • Education: Bachelor's degree required. 
    • Experience: 5 or more years’ progressive experience in a business environment; financial services experience highly desired, or the equivalent education/experience.
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills: ability to communicate effectively with all levels within and outside of the organization. Public speaking experience required. 
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with respect to application of operational, customer and financial data
    • Demonstrated success managing change initiatives or applying process improvement methods in a team based work environment
    • California Life and Disability License is required (employee has up to 6 months to obtain this license)

    Physical Demands:

    • Periodic travel will be required during peak enrollment period (approximately August – October) throughout CA.
