    The Operations Analyst is responsble for preparing and analyzing complex data to provide meaningful insights to Underwriting leadership and employees.  The Analyst acts as a consultant on key departmental decisions.  Main job duties include analyzing results and performance data through the development and maintenance of tools and reports. 


    • Develop and prepare daily, weekly and monthly analysis of operating/performance results, forecasts, and trends.  Develop, compile, analyze, and interpret management and workflow reporting.   Develop performance measurement models, techniques, systems and tools.  Review, analyze and improve manual and automated procedures, systems and controls. 
    • Lead in the development and implementation of new systems or enhance existing systems to resolve problems or improve processes and controls by partnering with Underwriting Leadership team. Work closely with Employee Benefits Business Intelligence, IT, Compliance, Contracts and other Employee Benefits areas. Produce ad hoc reports as requested.
    • Develop, maintain and train staff on use of tools used to document, manage and analyze standardized work processes. Maintain effective and responsive communication with management to ensure timely identification and understanding of key performance indicators.
    • Drive execution of assigned projects; may lead some projects, and act as a subject matter expert as needed. Produce reports and analyze data to support projects..
    • Adhere to applicable standards, demonstrate corporate values and continuously improve the work.
    • Demonstrate the traits of a Lean Employee.


    Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience required. 


    Experience: 6-8 years progressively responsible experience in underwriting or other relevant insurance related field, e.g. Actuarial, Benefits, Contracts, Policy Administration, etc.


    Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Excel, PowerPivot, SharePoint, SQL, HTML required.  Advanced knowledge of software listed above and DAX, MDX, VBA languages is a plus.
